This is the band's debut single following its name change to Refinery Drive, and is the first to feature Jenna Wall on lead vocals. The song was recorded with former Yours Truly guitarist Lachie Cronin and was mastered by Christopher Vernon.
Lyrics
You were the worst mistake I ever made
What would of happened if
If I stayed or turned away
Now looking back through stained glass eyes
Say it back, I’ll fuck it up
Say it back, I’ll fuck it up
Taking back my
Promises
Said it without thinking
It’s just common sense
Fuck it, now I’m leaving
And the waves trapped me under
Couldn’t come up
Did you wonder
You ain’t innocent
Pleading your insanity
Pleading your insanity
Open up, out of luck
Not enough to keep you up at night
But I still tried
Despite, what you put me through
How did it get to this? Called it quits
Still watch the blame fall from your mouth
And say why won’t you stay
Now looking back through stained glass eyes
Say it back, I’ll fuck it up
Taking back my
Promises
Said it without thinking
It’s just common sense
Fuck it, now I’m leaving
And the waves trapped me under
Couldn’t come up
Did you wonder
You ain’t innocent
Pleading your insanity
Go on and say it to my face
Smile as I watch you walk away
Pull your head out from the clouds
Go on, tear me down
Go on, tear me down
Taking back my
Promises
Said it without thinking
It’s just common sense
Fuck it, now I'm leaving
And the waves trapped me under
Couldn’t come up
Did you wonder
You ain’t innocent
Pleading your insanity
Pleading your insanity
It's just common sense
I'm taking back my promises
