“It had me absolutely headbanging in the studio ... they're creating some really big numbers, that tempo change, whoa!”

— Anika Luna, Triple J Unearthed

BIO

Sydney pop-punk band Refinery Drive are a passionate mix of attitude, power and energy. Their unique sound blends pop, punk, metalcore and jazz. They’ve been referred to as the “Aussie Paramore” and definitely draw inspiration from Tonight Alive and New Found Glory.

Meeting at Sydney’s Big Music and School of Rock Australia, Jenna, Jack, Dorian and Oli have been touring and performing since before they were teenagers. They love playing live and are a regular on the Sydney pub scene. The Underground Stage put it perfectly: “Refinery Drive slam large pop-punk nails straight to the back of the head, no apologies, no restraint. From start to end it’s like it's trying to provide a point, a message and a warning. A fabulous vocal flying high over a beefy band rarely disappoints.”

The band has supported some incredible acts like DZ Deathrays and The Buoys, and they’ve won band comps Northern Composure Unplugged (judged by INXS's Kirk Pengilly), the Triple M Gotcha4Life band comp and RockFest Sydney. Most recently they reached the final of the 2023 Sounds Good band series.

Their single 'Promises' released in early 2024, produced by ARIA nominated artist Lachlan Cronin, set a fresh tone for the band and picked up Triple J airplay courtesy of Josh Merriel. Their follow-up release 'Fool Me Twice' premiered on Triple J Unearthed TOPS, was featured as Triple J Unearthed Track of the Day and received Triple J airplay courtesy of Ebony Jade. Their latest single "Headlights" was released on 16 Jan 2025 with Triple J's Lauren Guerrera calling it an "Absolute pop punk rippa!!".

Jenna

Vocals

Jenna grew up on the North side of Sydney and has already tackled the US touring scene, performing shows in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Nashville and more. She is Refinery Drive's lead singer, with her power packed vocals taking the band to entirely new levels. Jenna's rendition of the band's award winning song "It's Over", described by News Corp's Doug Conway as "a powerhouse song about pushing on through pain and hardship, and it’s electric stuff" is out of this world!

Dorian

Guitar

Dorian met the rest of the band at the famous Big Music School and Studios in Crows Nest, close to where he grew up. Whilst he's the newest member of the band, Dorian has played alongside Jenna, Jack and Oli in various bands and tours over many years. He's a seasoned performer who slotted into Refinery Drive seamlessly and brings a wonderful balance to the group both on and off the stage.

Jack

Bass

Jack lives on the Northern Beaches too and is the rhythmic master of the band. The only competitor to have ever reached the final of the Sydney Junior Guitar Championships playing bass, Jack isn't afraid to push the boundaries of his craft. His technical endeavours extend to song development and production, where he forms the cornerstone of Refinery Drive's writing and recording process.

Oli

Drums

Oli calls the Inner West of Sydney home. Described by SBS's Ricardo Goncalves as "a rising star in Australia's music industry", Oli has been winning band competitions since he was 11. He too has tackled the US touring scene, performing at some iconic venues including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and at Graceland in Memphis.

Oli is squarely planted behind the drum kit for Refinery Drive and serves up backing vocals to boot.

“Played Kelly's On King, Sydney. 15/10 guitars. I have no words! ...killed it. The entranced crowd were copy-chanting every lyric... Such a sick night, loved every second of it.”
